Monthly rent includes the assigned room, utilities, mutuals (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.), amenities (which can change over time as they are added, removed, or damaged; examples include large screen 4K HDR TV in the living room, music system throughout the house, smart lights with sensors, washer and dryer, etc.), limited shared storage space, and one parking spot that is shared among the housemates (i.e., street parking is most common, but off-street parking is available on first-come first-served basis).
The laundry room is not huge, but it successfully doubles as a jam room; there is a full-sized drum kit, half-stack guitar amp, microphone/PA system, and miscellaneous other equipment/space for practicing/recording. Be warned - while all housemates are expected to be respectful of each other's needs and of applicable noise laws, this house (and the neighborhood) is a musical house! It is also 4/20 friendly and has occasional social events/parties (with plenty of notice). The home is within 5-10 minute drive to the beach, SBCC, the 101, and plenty of food/grocery options nearby.
First month's rent and security deposit (not to be confused with "last month's rent") are required for move-in. There are weekly assigned chores to maintain the property, which requires about 1 hour per week of effort. There is one required house meeting once a month, with other meetings on an emergency, as-needed, or optional basis. There are currently three friendly dogs at this location, so unfortunately we can't accept any more (and those with serious dog or pet allergies would not be best suited at this site). Other animals are on a case-by-case basis, so feel free to ask!
Room A - $1040/mo
The room is the smallest room of the household and is immediately to the left upon entry. It has two large windows and easy-to-clean tile floors. It also has central access to the front door, living room, kitchen, and nearby bathroom. It is available for one person.
